About
Our goal is to create enjoyable, bite-sized learning that helps you hone your skills personally and professionally.
How We Do It
Using a variety of interactive tools, subject matter experts, and pop culture examples, we break down ideas many people consider as “common sense.” While much of the content provided may appear “common,” these principles are not always understood nor applied at a deep level.

My Story
After working in Higher education for over 13 years, I realized adult learners were lacking opportunities to develop personally and professionally.
My mission is to meet your needs with simple, fun, engaging learning activities using interactive tools, pop culture references, and a simple learner interface. To learn more about my story, keep reading or try one of our demo courses.

My Story (Cont.)
“I never teach my pupils; I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn.” – Albert Einstein
I graduated from college in 2006 with a degree in broadcasting. After working at a radio station for less than a year, I knew I needed to make a career change. I decided to go back to school to further my education. I was afforded an opportunity to teach an introduction to communication course and I instantly fell in love with teaching. That’s when I first heard the quote above by Albert Einstein. I realized delivering content was only half of the battle, the bigger and more important battle was creating an environment suitable for all learners from all walks of life. At the time, I was thinking about the “physical environment” (classroom) with traditional undergraduate students, but that was before COVID.
When COVID-19 hit, I was working as an Instructional Designer at a prestigious dental school. Thankfully, we leveraged COVID to our advantage, creating a better learning experience for our students. Fast forward today, almost all education has moved back to traditional means of learning, forcing people to “show up” physically to a boring zoom call, lecture, or long video. Since the initial COVID disruption, I’ve worked with many adult learners who are asking the same question…
Why does learning have to be so difficult, especially if I have one or more degrees? After countless years of trying to explain to my colleagues how we could provide better opportunities to adult learners, it finally hit me, why not do it myself? That’s how OneUpSkill was born. It’s created for people like you who question traditional education methods. Here at OneUpSkill, we don’t teach, instead we create an environment where you can learn.
